Our Ministry Journey
Beginnings: Papua New Guinea
Ministry has always been a central part of our family. After eight years serving in a local church context, God used a trip to the Brydges Centre in Kenya to clarify His call into full-time missions. In 2017, we joined Wycliffe and began our journey in the ministry of global Bible translation.
Our first assignment took us to the highlands of Papua New Guinea. Luke served as Chief Communications Officer for the SIL PNG branch, while Noelle focused on relational ministry and was part of a Scripture Engagement team. Just nine months into our time there, our daughter Meleia began experiencing seizures and was diagnosed with epilepsy. The remote setting made it clear that we could not continue in PNG as planned. Although our time there was shorter than expected, it became a formative part of our story and shaped the direction of what came next.
Serving Globally From Texas
After returning from PNG, we accepted a new assignment based in Dallas, Texas, home of SIL’s International Linguistics Center and global headquarters. Luke stepped into the role of Director of Global Communications, supporting the global Bible translation movement through storytelling, strategy, and alignment across SIL’s worldwide community.
During this season, Noelle served for three years as a TCK coordinator, walking alongside families navigating life between cultures. She later shifted her focus to foster ministry in the DFW area, where God opened an unexpected and meaningful door in our family’s story. Through foster care, we had the joy of welcoming Alaina into our family, a gift that deeply shaped our home and strengthened our understanding of God’s heart for restoration and belonging.
This season in Dallas became a time of both stability and growth, as our family found deeper roots while our ministry continued to expand globally.
Moving to Kenya
In November 2024, Luke stepped into the role of Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for SIL Global. As we look ahead, we are now preparing to relocate to Nairobi, Kenya as our new home base while Luke continues in this role.
The move places us closer to SIL’s growing Nairobi-based team and allows for stronger collaboration with leadership, better time zone alignment, and greater proximity to the work happening across Africa and beyond. In many ways, it feels full circle. Kenya is where this journey first began in 2017, and now it also becomes the place from which this next season of ministry will unfold.
We step into this chapter with gratitude, clarity, and trust, knowing that God has faithfully guided every part of the journey so far.
